Hey hey people. THIS IS VIC HERE (in case i forget to put it down at the end...)

Well its coming to the end of the year and you know what that means...Reunion time =D!
The last social gathering we had (almost all touch rug guys and girls) was the BBQ at my place last year. So since i'm still staying at my house (yes =D), i'll be holding a BBQ again for all of us.

BUT

I'm thinking we should have it on the FIRST/SECOND WEEK OF JAN.
Some of us maybe be busy/overseas/tied down doing xmas presents/preparing for the new year/ so on and so forth... so i propose:

Hey Girls,

A few things for you to take note:

1. Just incase you missed out on the email that was sent by blacksrfc, by serena, the email states that there will be no training till Jan 2009. We will be notified of the time of the next training when it's nearer to date through email. (& i'll be updating again, just in case.)

2. There will be Social Touch every saturday at SAJS, from 11am to 1pm.

3. There will be 2 hands touch with the club guys* every sunday, from 4pm at SAJS.

*note: club guys = blacksrfc guys and not our usual sats.

4. Jiayu and I were discussing about our saturdays. Since there will be social touch(ST), and we don't think it's nice to abandon the saturday guys(william, boon, eddy, etc) for ST, we were wondering if you guys want to have 2 rounds of touch on sats? because since ST starts from 11am to 1pm, and the army boys can only make it after 2pm, and since it's along the purple line, why not right? Also, we can also take the chance and meet up with the non-contact people. :)

* note: ST = Social Touch

Suggestions are welcomed.

5. Plus, i figured that this is actually srtouch blog, and we i'm always updating you guys on contact stuff, do you think it's decent if we contact peeps updated somewhere? i mean, it'd be not that messed up i guess. if there are no suggestions, i'll continue to update here.

6. Lastly, how about an outing huh, ruggers? :) with Mr RA. In case you don't know, Mr RA is no longer the teacher i/c for SRTouch, but the student council now. :( So we need to meet up. preferably before school starts.

1. Those who clip their fringes/hair - you are NOT allowed to do so during training so s to prevent any injuries from happening.
- skali you're carrying the person/or learning how to tackle, then you crashed into that dubious object, the object might be hurt/bleed. If it's an inanimate object, WHAT IF THE PIN/CLIP POKE INTO YOUR HEAD!!? WALAO!!

2. Those who wear glasses, you're NOT allowed to wear them either. So please bring your spectacle box/wear contacts.
- reason same as reason for point 1. if you're wearing your specs, and in the midst of a tackle or something, the glasses may break and it may hurt your eyes. So, wear contacts or don't wear any.

3. Can wear slippers!!
- no need elaboration! I'm sure we neither have to be oh so damn hot in order to enter the school nor have to let down our hair to seduce the security guard HAHAHAHAHAH (like don't know which school la hor? *looks at our own uniform.)

4. Please wear a sleeved cotton shirt.
- sleeveless shirts are not allowed, so as to prevent abrasions on shoulders. Material wise, not complusory for it to be cotton, but as Dri-Fit material shirts may expand when it gets tugged hard, cotton shirts are preferred.

5. No earrings/watches.
- to prevent any injuries while tackling.

We'll be meeting at 1.30pm @ potong pasir MRT as the training starts at 2pm and it'll be held at SA junior school field. (yes, it's the same rubber field that we went to for our first contact training).

I know its the studying period and most of us aren't exercising(cringes), but some of you are already done right!?!?!?!? (IDIOT) WUAHAHAHA. Anyway, there will be an 'exercising' period for you guys this saturday! (for those who completed/feel that they can come)

Details as follows:

WHO: The usual rugby boys.. I think it's Eddy, Geoff, Willy, Boon,Arif? (Sry, wasn't paying attention.)
WHAT: RUGBY LA WALAOEH!!!!!
WHEN: This saturday, 15 November 2008 @ 8am

WEAR: you know. (: Please remember to bring boots! Oh, and you can wear slippers lah.

Place that we'll be playing.

Those of you, who live near the East side would have probably seen our Juniors training at this "field" near the bus stop that is opposite the mama shop(have to cross over head bridge one) - some of us take 25, 55, 854 home from there. Specifically, it's opposite block 708 & block 708 is the block that the mama shop is at. (the mama shop with the forever looking-angry uncle).

Upon leaving the school gate, you have to cross the zebra crossing on your left and walk all the way straight out to the main road - you'll see a overhead bridge, and the field, which is outside a couple of double storey houses.

If it's not clear, please ask/say! If possible, I'll go meet you guys at school gate and escort you guys there. teehee (: Or we'll arrange to meet all at school gate (:

Oh, there's one thing, it's been monsooning these few days (urgh), so I presume that the place gonna be muddy. Therefore washing up might be a lil troublesome as we'll have to go back to school to wash and clean up. Be toilet-equipped! Not sure if the guys are gonna bring a ball.. but i'll ask, since we don't really have any gilberts at hand now.

HAPPY NATIONAL DAY!

to be honest i was just sick and tired of doing complex numbers so here i am...
boy...its been almost a year and now we're around A WEEK (yes, a week) away from the prelims and about 2 or 3 months from the A's.
It's really been quite a journey ever since we all started playing touch until now even if we don't play touch frequently. when i accompanied the j1s to MI i just wanted you guys to be there so we could PLAY! haha don't we all just miss the old days.
I just want to say, don't give up.
Its tough, especially now.
Sleepless nights, sore throats, running noses, no rugby, irritating teachers, annoying friends/classmates, time running out, too much information...AHHHH
Whatever it is, don't give up.
It's a level playing field out there. It's whoever struggles long enough and whoever wants it more that will win this thing called the A's. Just like how WE wanted it more than RP! =D
I believe in everyone of you guys, really. Never doubted the potential all of you have, and i mean ALL.
Believe in yourself and never doubt the abilities you have. We were always born smart enough, so its just who wants it more.
With that haha, I wish you all the best for the Prelims and the A Levels =)

I think you guys, like me, have completely forgotten the beach touch rules and how to play and all...
It's been a year since the last beach touch and I think we should at least have a good run for our money by doing a bit of "training" (i.e. just having fun playing against each other =D)

So i propose that we have "training" this coming wed(25/6), fri(27/6) and wed(2/7). Like for about an hour or so after school haha... and we'll probably get carried away and keep playing anyway...
any violent objections? or suggestions? or anything??? TAG TAG TAG!

Still, the timing is negotiable, the attire wise, if you don't feel like wearing any pe-attire, it's also fine, but if you get into trouble with the security uncle who obviously likes pretty girls, we're not accounting for that. (:

And for the things-to-bring side, you can don't bring your bath-ding stuff and be a total walking stink bomb, we're fine with that too, although it's very dirty, really dirty and smelly, trust valerie.

After sooo much trouble, we've finally formed 2 full teams for the beach fun touch comp=)
ok here are some stuff u guys need to know:

Parents must be aware of this beach fun touch comp since it's an independent thing outside school purview
Payment for the comp will be on that day itself. So i'll be collecting the money later on. ( cost not confirmed yet. I heard it'll be cheaper)
Attire will be decided later
We're getting some of the guys to help manage our teams. So far Arif has agreed

Sunburns

Sunburns on skin usually occur when you're under strong sunlight exposure for a period of time. However, the degree of the sunburn depends of each individual. For most people, the first stage of their sunburns are usually the reddening of their skin, followed by itch(varies) then after a few days, the skin will start to peel. The extent of each step totally depends on the individual's body/skin to be precised, on adapting to sunlight.

OKAY, the scary thing is that, sunburns on faces causes freckles!!! I know it's rather cute for teenagers like us because not many people have freckles. However, as you age(OMGOMGOMG), the freckles will somehow miraculously convert itself to black pigmentation and it will scar your face for lifeeeeeeeeee, till you get it treated that is. (:

So, putting on sunblock is a very important mission to do before trainings or PE or competitions. Somemore now the weather is so friggin hot..... Anyway, here are a few suggestions on sunblocks!! (:

La Roche Posay [CLICK]
La Roche Posay has good sunblock for face that comes in liquid form (below) which is less greasy and is suitable for all faces. I think this sunblock is pretty easy and nice to use and I use it everyday. However, like all other sunblocks, you have to re apply again every 2 hours. If you go to the website by clicking the above pink text, you will see a wider variety of La Roche Posay's sunblock and sunscreen that protects different parts of your body such as face and body.

Banana Boat [CLICK]

Banana boat is a common sunblock that we often use on our body and faces during sports. They come in many variations to suit different surroundings. There are sunblocks for dry sport, like soccer, rugby, running and wet sports like swimming, waterpolo or surfing. Scented or Fragrance free. They also have wide range of SPF that protects you from any type of sunrays. If you go to their website, they even have an "after sun" section that sells lotion for you to apply to moisturize your skin after the intense heat you went through(: Like all other sunblocks, you'll have to re apply after 2hrs.

Nivea Sunblock

Nivea Sunblock has this sweet smelling scent in its sunblock which is rather nice. Also, the sunblock is rather creamy, as if the thickness of the sunblock assures you protection from the sun. (: There are also specific sunblocks for face and body, seperately. It's relatively nice and easy to use.

So, the links to the M1 tournament pictures kindly taken by Mr Chong(sp?) and Junliang has been disseminated through email. Except that I have not received Mr Chong's side of photos. I've only received photos from junliang side. I will be getting Mr Chong's side of the photos probably by tmr. The original size of each photo is about 3000+pixels x 2000+/-pixels, but I've reduced them to about 1000+pixels x 700+/-pixels so that the file would be smaller and could be easily disseminated to you guys. However, if you guys want the original photos( in terms of size, other than that, it's still the same), please do contact me.

2. invitations to team mates for them to blog here using their own blogger account.

As some of us host our blogs through *blogspot/blogger, they allow multiple authors(provided there're bloggers) per blog, so, I've invited some of you guys(those that use *blogspot/blogger as their hosts) to be one of the authors for this blog. So, the J1's will have their own webpage, we'll have our own webpage and this current url will be the main page for the internet surfers to click on which batch they wanna go to. Hey Ruggers,
Sad news.... we won't be having training from next week onwards. At least until further notice.
On the 30th April, which suppose to be our official date to step down, we have ECONS...... yes wonderful econs(ERP) from 3.45 to 5.45pm. There's a make up session on 10th May for those who will miss it due to Cca commitments. But Mr andrew says we should go for econs since our tourney dates are still in the air.

So yea.... There'll be no training in the month of May. Time to mug for Mid years. Strive on girls! We're here for each other=)

Indeed, indeed. I'm not going to add on to what Ashley and Xiuxiu had just said because they've practically spoken everything in my mind. But one thing for sure, I love you guys (:

Now, and I mean right now, at this very moment, when I'm struggling amidst the piles of papers and books, and in my very classic pineapple head hairstyle(with my hair all tied to the top so it doesnt irritate me), I miss you guys! (: Let's study hard for one another, just like how we played for one another on the pitch against the other schools.

Academic is rather similar to Touch I guess.

Since we can't study for ourselves, we study for one another.
We'll study hard, and get into touch teams in Uni, (preferably the same :D) and play for each other again. We'll study to play.

School really sucks now. (LIKE BIG TIME LA WALAOEH), but let's press on just for all of us. (: Few more months, and we'll be facing this big fat thing which is know as A's. And then a few more months, we'll all be crying for joy like shit in the hall.

Simply because, SRJC touch rugby girls = 100% enters Uni.

Hello Champs!

Today's game was just *&$%#@!# FUNTASTIC. We had fun, and it was a fantastic play at every game. I think this year, we left ~~pretty much~~ALL of our opponents -speechless-. To think we've come far. From the the CMI team that was continuosly being thrashed by other schools (which are apparently lousier than us) to the current Champs. (: Other than not getting too complacent, i think we can give ourselves a big pat on our shoulders and say 'GG' to all of us.

Coach Carter is THE movie. Although I've watched it like a million times, this is like one of the few times I(I believe, we) got motivated to study like crap for this year's CT just in order to NOT get removed from just trainings. Hi. After being champions, Briggs SW Nette Jiayu Val and I actually had our moments in the bus. Firstly we saw two indian gays somewhat making out at the back of the bus beside Lynette. And shortly after, this chinese tikopeh lookalike farted the moment he came into the bus and damn he was sitting 1 metre away from us and we almost died. The smell was.... overwhelming.

Okay that's not my point! Suddenly.. I remembered something.

One year ago when we attended the touch rug camp, Mr Andrew said that at the end of our journey we would be the best among all schools. He showed us Coach Carter and told us some values yadadadadadadada and you know what?! After getting thrashed like ABC JC for 325782734 times people left and started thinking that what Mr Andrew said was totally irrealistic and he was just being plain ambitious.

Then... He talked about University entry remember? He said that by the end of this year he hope to see more than 50% of our girls getting into the UNI. After training so hard and getting what we really deserved, I feel that 50% is JUST TOO LITTLE! Now I feel like being more ambitious. I have this feeling all our top 14 girls will make it into the university.

Hello guys. Turning 18 is an emotional phase because this is Sylvia you are talking about.

You guys have birthday messages for me, I have birthday messages for you guys too! So here ithe grandmother story goes:

For the past one year, I had my ups and downs in SR(that includes seeing Jiayu cry). But all that kept me going through, even until the moment where I got retained, is the team.
♥From the very day we started cheating in back 5,
♥playing touch with the boys who just refuse to back 5,
♥having people discussing about econs/edison chen during training,
♥apologizing and receiving apologizes on the pitch for not doing a good job,
♥ From Serena,
♥Miss Lam's psychotic fartleks and endless sprints,
♥to a change of coach an awesome coach,
♥dinner after training,
♥getting so fascinated by Lycee Francaise's changing room,
♥getting our water bottles all mixed up,
♥passion flowing into this endless pit,
♥realising that Soklyn obviously has a talent in playing frisbee,
♥exploding and witnessing explosions,
♥robert and mucus wheeeeeeeeee,
♥having Mr Andrew like our king,
♥named our moves nehneh and baba and created the tuapehgong dive,
♥producing talents who found the way to my place to deliver me the marks&spencer hamper,
♥and of course Lynette complaining about all her monstrous tutors,
to this very day where I turn 18...

I've met some who have became the best of friends, and truly, madly, deeply, THIS TEAM IS ACTUALLY THE GREATEST GIFT I'VE EVER RECEIVED.
(I'm not kidding, don't believe ask my mother)

Sounds mushy huh? But I'm serious!

& of course to dear Xiaoting, I hope the sinseh has been doing a great job! Last but not least, thank you to Vic, Brigs, Jiayu, Seow Wei and Lynette for teaching me how to dive. If I can dive, all of you J2s here can score above 75 points for Alevels! Once again, thank you, and I love you people :)

HELLO PEOPLE! THIS BLOG IS SERIOUSLY OVERWHELMING HAHAHAHAHHA.

First and foremost, I hope you guys like the HONEY BUNCHES OF OATS CEREAL! And of course I hope Ashley liked her very unsurprising surprise omg.

Although I didn't play yesterday, I had more than enough fun zooming seow wei/jiayu/vic's agonizing/constipated faces.

Since I can't wait to see you people's names appear on the top students list next March(And Soklyn will be our first female PCME scholar in history)..... I have decided to do my part by organising something exciting, interesting and happening! I was just thinking if you guys want to study/complete your assignments at somewhere conducive like community centers or libraries or empty cafes after this Wednesday/Friday's training. You guys can discuss the difficult topics or share mindmap/ideas together since Mr Andrew thought this should be a good idea. If it turns out productive, that's really for the win! Don't worry, I will cover Val's mouth to ensure that her high-pitched voice does not disrupt our study session. I'm open to suggestions! Please feedback :)
